Artist Statement
Jordan Taylor creates creatures that embody different subject matters, such as history, personal experiences, ideologies, and explorations of the self. Detailed and intricate patterns are used to convey multiple aspects of these subject matters. Taylor generates these creatures to pull more out of them, and allow the audience to see things from a different angle. An angle focused on the meaning and feeling of the subject matter rather than presenting a visual based on facts or realism. Digging into the bigger picture, and showcase her interpretation of her life and the world around her.
People tend to find themselves lost in Jordan Taylor’s artwork, often stating they feel transported to another world. The intense detail and the patterns contribute to this experience. Personal matters are frequently featured in her art, accompanied by unfiltered emotions and experiences. Taylor’s work is drawn from her mind, soul, and heart. She uses art as a method to discover the true meaning of the subject, and look inside herself to find her the most honest reflection of her feelings. The repetitive mark makings allow Taylor to transport herself in a meditative state, giving her time to learn, and explore the depths of her mind.
Jordan Taylor’s desire for the viewer is to leave them thinking in the form of visual presentation rather than facts. An opportunity to analyze the world around them in a new way, so that they too could possibly benefit from exploring the true intentions and meanings of the world, and their mind.

Short answer, yes. Slightly longer answer, yes but in the best way. I get this question a lot due to my chaotic nature and goofy personality.

Many people think that it’s a very tedious process for me, but I love drawing thousands of tiny lines. People often tell me that they would go insane drawing all of those lines. I’m already insane so this isn’t a problem. I enter a relaxing and meditative state that allows me to properly connect within myself and allows me plenty of time to think and explore my subject matter.

A very good question, thank you for asking. Short answer is, I’m not sure, at least three. Long answer is the amount of grapes I have eaten in my life is unclear. You see, I have lived a long life, (22 years) and have consumed many fruits throughout this time. I go through phases of different fruits I become temporary fixated on. Currently, it is bananas. I have been consuming 3-4 bananas everyday. I have gone through grape phases before, specifically green ones. I am not really a fan of the purple ones. I like it when my green grapes are a little sour. There were these one grapes that my art teacher once gave me when I was fourteen that I never forgot about. They were green, sour, and had a tough outer skin that was thicker than any other grapes I had, and the inside was very squishy. I have searched far and wide for these grapes but I have never been able to find them. It makes me tear up thinking back to how amazing these grapes were. If anyone has any ideas on what type these may be or where I can find grapes like this please let me know. Grapes are a safe fruit to consume. Strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries are more of a gamble. They can very greatly in quality. Grapes however, are very reliable. You can eat them in the dark without any danger. I don’t really even know what grapes are, like they aren’t a berry but they are small so like what’s going on there? Scientists may never know. Anyways, I’ve eaten at least three grapes in my life, but the numbers could be in the billions, who knows?

Well I don’t actually hate anyone, including British people but I do have a distaste for them. Obviously there are some exceptions, like notorious art thief Pierre Despereaux. What I dislike about British people mostly is their attitude and their odd superiority complex towards Americans. Like yeah America kinda sucks but at least (most of us) acknowledge it, where England sucks and they act like it’s the best. Also, they take stuff too far. We make fun of their accents and they hit us with a gun violence joke? Like talk about going from 0-100 real quick.
